Past fundraisers/events

Thanks all who attended the last quiz on 24th February ’24 with quizmaster Keith Baty at Blindcrake Village Hall. A fabulous total of £337 was raised, and a good night was had.

We had a great time at the ceilidh in Kendal in November ’22 with the brilliant Eden Valley Ceilidh Band. About £200 was raised, all of which will go to projects overseas.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined in with our Zoom quiz on 16th Nov 2022 with Keith Baty. The night raised over £200, all of which will be used to fund projects overseas.

In the past 12 months during the pandemic we have had several very successful online quizzes.

On Friday 28th February 2020 we held a Quiz night with Quizmaster Keith Baty at Blindcrake Village Hall, a new location for us. Turnout was good with plenty of local support, so thank you all for coming and to Keith especially. As usual, it was a fun night. We raised £340 which will all be spent on COAT projects.

We had a fantastic evening with the Eden Valley Ceilidh band on Saturday 23rd November 2019 at Low Hesket village hall and raised over £400. Thanks to all who came and also generously bought raffle tickets and books.

The quiz with Keith Baty in April ’19 was a great evening and raised £385 for COAT projects. Thanks to Keith and all who attended.

Thank you so much to the Eden Valley Ceilidh Band who played at the COAT ceilidh on Saturday 24th November 2018 at Low Hesket Village hall, and to everyone else who came and contributed. It was a great night and raised over £500 for new projects. The pies from Harrison’s butchers in Wigton also went down a treat.

Sue’s tea party was held in September and as ever was a very enjoyable event. A grand total of £323.35 was raised, so thanks to Sue.

We had a very successful and enjoyable ceilidh at Low Hesket village hall with the Eden Valley Ceilidh Band on Saturday 25th November 2017. About £400 was made, which will be put towards projects in 2018.

On the 8th and 9th June 2017 we had a stall of “Crafts from around the World” at Maddy Prior’s Stepping Stones festival, Kirklinton Hall, north Cumbria. We raised just over £300 and everyone enjoyed the event. See us there again next year!

Keith Baty hosted a quiz on Saturday 18th March 2017 at Warwick on Eden village hall. It was a fun evening, and raised a magnificent ££568.90.

Thank you so much to Maddy Prior for collecting money for COAT on her Winter 2016 tour. And thank you to all those who donated: £1020 was collected, to be spent entirely on projects.

18th November 2016 – a ceilidh with the Eden Valley Ceilidh Band at Low Hesket Village Hall. We had a fantastic evening and everyone loved the band. We made £685 so a big thank you for all you came and contributed to this success.

We had a very enjoyable Burns Night Supper cooked by local celebrity chef John Crouch on 30th January ’15. Many thanks to John for the delicious food and for his ongoing support  for COAT. Thanks too to our patron Maddy Prior for opening the evening with a song, and to all those who contributed music and readings. We raised around £285 towards future projects.

The quiz on 28th November ’14 was a great success. Many thanks to Quizmaster Keith Baty and all who helped. £286 was raised which will be spent on projects.

Former trustee Anna Heneghan raised a fantastic £300 from her sponsored triathlon in August ’14 – a fantastic effort!

In January ’14 we had a delicious Chinese meal cooked by Cumbrian chef John Crouch  – thank you to John for his continuing support of COAT. This evening raised a fantastic £510 towards future projects.

Also in January we received a magnificent donation of £716.82 from Warcop and Sandford Churches Together. Thank you so much to all those involved in raising this money for COAT projects.

Thank you to those trustees who attended a joint bag-packing day at Sainsbury’s with COWC (Carlisle One World Centre) on 23/11/13. This raised £166.40 for COAT.
